Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A charming little diner for a delicious bite of food! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, and you can get a nice view of the railroad line, hence the name. I've enjoyed breakfast and lunch here on multiple occasions, and will definitely be back. Pictured here is the "Star Spangled" with cream cheese stuffed french toast."
"Delicious food with generous portions. Reasonable prices. Best smoked brisket sandwich I’ve had in a long time."
"My husband and I didn’t mind waiting because the food and atmosphere is wonderful. This is first time for breakfast and the other time was dinner. All the waitresses are so nice. The service is quick. Getting your food doesn’t take long either."
"From the outside, one would not expect the gem that is inside. Small parking on both sides. Little vestibule when you walk in. Inside you'll find the friendliest staff I may have ever met. They are amazing as far as making sure your coffee is refilled, and your order is placed. The service would get more than five stars if I could. The setting is quite nice too. And the food is some of the freshest you will ever have. The eggs and toast are so flavorful. The bacon was amazing. And it was a great cup of coffee. Highly recommended if you were an area and need something to eat for breakfast lunch or dinner."
"This is my second time here, and everything was absolutely wonderful again! I had the pumpkin and chocolate chip baked oatmeal which was delicious! Staff is very friendly and the service was great! It doesn't look like much, but as they say, "good things come in small packages"."
"Wow! You will want to go here. Saturday breakfast is excellent. Owner was a local youth of 18 years old when he bought and continued this place. This is for when you want a local cafe when the locals go and visitors come from a distance because they want a truly home cooked meal. The youthful owner is the chef and is right there to see. I noticed that he personally talked to some people though as busy as this place is he likely needs to stay at the cooking. The servings were large. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was calm. I am sure this place stays busy. We didn’t wait to get seated and could order immediately. But I think they could get swamped causing a wait, but the wait would be worth it. Our food also came very quickly. Our waitress was Kaitlyn W. and she was friendly, helpful, and always nearby. The owner and waitresses are local Mennonites so you also get that Pennsylvania Dutch touch. I can highly recommend the Railroad Diner and would go again when I get back."
"Quant little place with really good home cooked style food, and excellent service. Had the skillet and it was delicious. Coffee was great too, was some specialty brand that they also sell by the bag there. Their burgers and fries are excellent, hope to try some desserts next time. Their brisket and meatloaf is pretty awesome!"
"Good country dinner with homemade food and quality ingredients. Breakfast and Lunch are both great. Some creative combinations on the daily specials board are typically very good. The space is small, seating tight and does get very crowded during peak meal times. The deserts are good as well. The trains rolling by add a nice country touch to the experience."
